Coconut Astronaut Squirrels!

0 Comments 09 March 2010

This is a pair of squirrels playing outerspace in the park with a couple of coconut helmets on their heads. YOU TWO ARE CRACKING MY SHIT UP!!

Miss Roberts, 46, leaves out two coconuts a week and suspends them on pieces of string from her washing line and watches her furry friends dig in.
She said: “The first time I saw them feeding I nearly died laughing, they looked like a pair of astronauts and even now I can not stop chuckling every time I see them.

“I make a large hole in the coconut so they can get to the flesh. They cannot get enough of them.

Is that not the cutest thing? Sure squirrels are glorified tree-rats and love to dive in front of my car, but they also play space. Now, are you thinking what I’m thinking? MAYBE PRIMATES AREN’T OUR CLOSEST RELATIVES AFTER ALL! Hello, operator? Get me the Smithsonian.

Lil Wayne Gets Locked Up

0 Comments 09 March 2010

Rapper Lil Wayne will spend most of 2010 behind bars. After a number of setbacks that kept pushing back his sentencing, a judge has handed down Wayne’s one year sentence for a weapons crime to which he pleaded guilty, at the Manhattan Criminal court.

Apparently, the popular rapper has recorded a stockpile of material to release during his jail time. Worried the fans might forget about him, he claims to have recorded seven music videos this last weekend and recently started a Twitter account. Hundreds of thousands of people are now following that Twitter account, but only time will tell if this stint in the big house will really put Lil Wayne out with the fans.

Sandra Bullock & Transformers Top Razzies Worst List

0 Comments 07 March 2010

Sandra Bullock warmed up for the Academy Awards with a stop at the Razzies to collect a dubious honor: a worst-actress prize for her romantic comedy flop “All About Steve.”  Bullock swung by the Razzies on the eve of her expected triumph at Sunday’s Oscars, where she is considered the favorite to win best actress for “The Blind Side.” If she wins Sunday, Bullock will be the first person to win an Oscar and a Razzie over the same weekend.

“I think this is an extraordinary award,” said Bullock, who had promised throughout awards season that if she won the Razzie, she would accept it in person. “And I didn’t realize that, in Hollywood, all you had to do was say you’d show up, and then you’d get the award. If I’d known that, I would have said I was appearing at the Oscars a long time ago.”

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” was picked as last year’s worst picture and won two other Razzies, worst director for Michael Bay and worst screenplay for Ehren Kruger, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.  Bay and his team probably will not lose any asleep over it. Though reviled by critics, “Transformers” took in $402.1 million domestically, No. 2 on the 2009 box-office chart behind “Avatar.”

Bullock, who also shared the Razzie for worst screen couple with “All About Steve” co-star Bradley Cooper, was the first acting winner to show up at the Razzies since Halle Berry won worst-actress for “Catwoman” five years ago.  As she took the stage, Bullock pulled a little red wagon filled with DVDs of “All About Steve,” saying she was giving a copy to everyone in the audience of about 300.  Bullock implied that many Razzie voters had not actually seen the movie but cast ballots for her hoping to get her to show up at the awards. Bullock said if they watched the DVD — “I mean really watch it” — and decided it was not the worst performance of the year after all, then she would come back next year and “give back the Razzie. … then we’ll go drink afterwards.”

Alice In Wonderland – Huge Weekend $116M

0 Comments 07 March 2010

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s 3-D trip down the rabbit hole drew huge crowds, as “Alice in the Wonderland” earned a whopping $116.3 million in its opening weekend.

That total was significantly higher than forecasts, and easily surpassed all other films in release.

And it gave Walt Disney Studios the biggest opening for a 3-D film ever — even better than “Avatar.” It was also Burton’s best opening.

“Alice in Wonderland” teams director Burton with his frequent collaborator, Depp, who plays the Mad Hatter in their new take on Lewis Carroll’s classic.
