Lady Gaga arrives at Earls Court ahead of her performance Lady Gaga has scooped a Brit Awards hat-trick, winning all three prizes she was up for including best international female and breakthrough act.
The singer, who arrived at the London ceremony wearing a three-tiered white dress and a tall white wig, also won best international album for The Fame.
Dizzee Rascal was named best British male, and said: “It’s about time as well,” as he collected his award.
Rapper Jay-Z won the prize for best international male. The last time an international act walked away with three Brits was in 2005 when Scissor Sisters scored a triple award win. Lily Allen kicked off the show at Earls Court, performing The Fear while entering the stage on a glittery blimp.
The star also collected the award for best British female, her first Brit accolade. Not expecting to win, the singer said: “I only wore this wig because I thought it would be hard for the cameramen to find me to catch my disappointed face.”
