As Susan Boyle started a third week atop the U.K. album chart, Lady Gaga scored her third No. 1 single in the territory with "Bad Romance" (Interscope/Universal). Boyle’s debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" (Syco Music/Sony Music Entertainment) leads the way again in the Official Charts Company’s penultimate survey before Christmas. Boyle’s set sold 274,000 in the U.K. last week and it passed a million sales on Sunday (Dec. 13).
It was pursued by Lady Gaga’s "The Fame," up 12-2 as "Bad Romance" followed her two U.K. No. 1s from early this year, "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," to the top last night. Sales of her new eight-song collection "The Fame Monster" are being combined with those of its predecessor in the U.K. and some other territories.
The Susan Boyle title also moved 3-1 on Billboard’s European Albums chart, while Black Eyed Peas are in a second week atop European Hot 100 Singles with "Meet Me Halfway."
