A mother of five, Meredith Baxter reveals to People magazine that she has been involved in a lesbian relationship with contractor, Nancy Locke, for four years. The couple have lived together for the past two years and Baxter reveals that the road leading to her coming out has been a long one.

Baxter tells People, "I was never comfortable with myself…That doesn’t mean I was questioning." She adds, "I feel like I’m being honest for the first time."

Meredith first started dating women seven years ago, after three failed marriages to men and says that up until that point, being gay "had never crossed my mind." Shortly after it did, however, she spoke to her children, who were supportive.

Quite simply, Meredith sums it up by saying, "I’m a lesbian mom." Well, cheers to that!
