This couldn’t get any better if I dreamed it!  Star magazine senior reporter Kate Major resigned this morning, Thursday, July 23, citing a conflict of interest between her reporting duties for the magazine and her relationship with Jon Gosselin.

Last night, Kate 2.0 proclaimed her love for Jon: “I didn’t mean it to happen, it just did. I went to do a story on Jon and ended up falling for him.”

Jon and Kate 2.0 are currently shacked up in the Hamptons at Michael Lohan’s home.

Hailey Glassman, aka Jon’s girlfriend, was shocked to hear that Jon has been seeing Kate 2.0. A teary-eyed Hailey tells People, “I still love Jon and Jon loves me.”

This is priceless!

UPDATE: Life & Style reports that Jon now retains PR representation from the Rubenstein Communications, a New York-based firm that has also represents David Letterman, Donald Trump, Alex Rodriguez and Christie Brinkley.
