Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Ashton Kutcher, and Bradley Cooper are all part of the A-list cast of the forthcoming Garry Marshall film Valentine’s Day, which is a romantic comedy
about five intersecting stories that play out during Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles.
Roberts will play an army officer on leave from Iraq who is heading to LA. She meets Cooper, a gay man who is in love with an in-the-closet football player, on the flight. Kutcher will play a flower shop owner who asks Alba’s character to marry him but comes to the realization that he is actually in love with his good friend, played by Garner. Garner’s character will discover that her boyfriend is married.
MacClaine will play Roberts’ mother who admits a long-ago affair to her husband, while Hathaway will star as an assistant who works at a talent agency and dates a mailroom employee. Biel would star as a publicist at the agency with no luck in love and no date for Valentine’s Day. The roles of the gay football player, MacLaine’s husband, the mailroom employee, and the talent agent have yet to be cast.
